About us

Deck Builders Working the South Salt Lake Valley

A short page, because most of what is worth knowing about a contractor is in how they answer questions rather than in how they describe themselves.

Who we are

Decks, and only decks

We build, repair and replace decks for houses in Herriman and the cities around it. That is the whole list. We are not a general remodelling company that will also do a deck if asked.

Narrowing it down that far has one obvious effect: you get people who have taken apart enough failing decks in this valley to know where they fail. The ledger. The footings. The guard posts. The stair stringers at ground level. It is nearly always one of those four, and it is nearly always something that was decided in a couple of hours during the original build.

What you will not find on this page is a founding date, a crew count, a licence number or a star rating. If those matter to you — and they reasonably might — ask us directly and you will get a straight answer instead of a marketing line.

  • Deck installation, repair, replacement, composite, timber and guards
  • Herriman plus 22 cities across the south Salt Lake Valley and northern Utah County
  • Permit drawings prepared and submitted as part of the job, not billed as an extra surprise

How we work

Three things we hold to

These are not values statements. They are decisions about how the work runs, and they cost us jobs occasionally.

We look before we price

No numbers over the phone. A deck quote depends on ledger condition, grade, soil, height and how much guard and stair there is, and none of that is visible from a description. Anyone quoting blind is either padding heavily or is about to have an awkward conversation with you later.

We say when the cheaper option is right

If your frame is sound, we will tell you that even when we are standing there to price a replacement. A resurface on good framing is a fraction of the money, and it is the right answer often enough that pretending otherwise would be dishonest.

We build for the inspector, not around them

Footing depth, ledger flashing, guard load, baluster spacing. These get checked, and they exist because decks that ignored them collapsed. Building to them is not a premium option here.

Working with us

What it actually looks like

The parts people ask about most, in the order they happen.

01

You describe the situation

A form, in your own words. No qualification call, no gatekeeping questions about budget before we have understood the job.

02

We come and look

Measurements, grade, drainage, the wall behind the ledger. We will point out things you did not ask about if they matter — and say so if they do not.

03

You get a real number

With the layout and what it includes. If there is a cheaper route to most of what you want, it is in the same document rather than withheld.

04

We handle the paperwork

Permit drawings and submission, plan-review comments, inspection scheduling. This is the part homeowners most often get stuck on and it is included.

05

We build it

Materials stacked out of your way, site cleared at the end of each day, and we tell you before anything noisy or disruptive happens.

06

We hand it over properly

A walkthrough covering what was done, what the finish needs, and when. Not a handshake and a van door closing.

Ask us the awkward questions

Licensing, insurance, references, how long we have been doing this — ask directly and you will get a direct answer. We would rather that than have you take a website’s word for it.

Where we work

Why the coverage area looks the way it does

The list of cities on this site is not an SEO exercise in drawing the widest possible circle. It is the area we can reach, look at a deck, and get back to within a working day without the travel starting to show up in your price.

It runs from Herriman across the south end of the valley — Riverton, South Jordan, Bluffdale, Daybreak, West Jordan, Draper — north through Sandy, Midvale, Murray, Taylorsville and West Valley City into Millcreek, Holladay and Salt Lake City, and south over the Point of the Mountain into Lehi, Saratoga Springs, American Fork, Highland and Pleasant Grove.

Each city page covers what is actually different about building there: the terrain, the era the housing went up in, and which building department you will be dealing with. Those differences are real and they change the job.
